Within every single religion, race, nation and sex you will find examples of intelligence and stupidity, saints and sinners, love and hatred among its individual members. At the foundation of every religion, one finds a search for spiritual understanding. Every race is composed of human beings. Within every nation there is a struggle for freedom and justice. The reality of sex is biological. That being said, I was born a White male in the United States of America in 1948 and raised as a Christian. No matter how much I read or study or embrace the religion, race, nation or sex of other human beings, the imprinting that took place in my youth is constantly with me. I feel the presence of God most strongly in a protestant Christian church but I sincerely believe that those who are raised in other faiths experience God just as strongly as any Christian. I hold no belief more intensely than the belief that every religion has been both the source of marvelous miracles of faith and at the same time the harbinger of some of the most horrific genocidal crimes against all of humanity in the name of God.
If you are looking for an organization to belong to, there is none here. I am an attorney by profession and as such I work in one of the most combative arenas within the human society. I am an advocate for peace but I am not a pacifist. When I am the anvil I bear and when I am the hammer I strike. I believe there are two places to seek out the common denominators of peace and WorldPeace. One is within the confines of the religious experience and the other is within the grass roots of human contention which all too often culminates in the justice system. I live and work within both areas.
I believe that inner peace comes from being who you are: A tiger can find
no peace living as a house cat. I believe that the law is the foundation
of the social peace and therefore if the law manifests injustice, society
degenerates into anarchy. I believe that the foundation of spiritual
peace is an understanding that we are more than the bodies which we
inhabit.
